Limb of Shiva

The Velliangiri Mountains are also known as Thenkailayam or South Kailash – a space where the Adiyogi Shiva himself spent some time. Over the ages, many siddhas and seers have enshrined their energies and Grace in these mountains, which can be accessed and imbibed even today.
Every year, lakhs of devotees make the pilgrimage to the Velliangiri’s sacred Seventh Hill, a space of tremendous power and energy. On the night of Shivarathri, devotees have a rare opportunity to make this pilgrimage after undergoing a vrata – a 42-day period of sadhana. On other months, they make the trek on Amavasya (morning after shivarathri).
Open only to men, this sadhana enhances receptivity to the energies of Dhyanalinga, and allows them to explore higher levels of experience in body, mind, and energy.

Initiation into Shivanga sadhana will be offered Gurupournami
on, July 27, Friday

Initiation into the Shivanga sadhana is offered every Pournami
(full moon day).

The initiation of Gurupournami July 27, Friday is available in many cities around the world. The sadhana culminates at the Dhayanalinga after a 42-day period on Shivratri Sep 8, Saturday. Devotees will make a yatra to the Velliangiri Mountain, known as Kailash of the South. More information on the sadhana is available here.

  • Velliangiri was graced by Shiva himself. Many great yogis, siddhas, and above all, my Divine Guru enshrined their sacred knowledge in these peaks. One who allows this cascade of Grace to descend upon oneself will anyway be washed to the shore of the Beyond.
  • Shivanga is a journey from being a part of creation, to being a part of the source of creation or the Creator. Every life around us has the same source but the biggest advantage, challenge or possibility that human beings have in their lives is that we are capable of realizing it. We are capable of making it into a conscious process. None of the other creatures can realize that they are made of this stuff. If you light the fire of devotion in your heart, you will not live here as a piece of earth, but as a limb or a part of Shiva.
